IN OUR CHAT, WE CAN DISCUSS...
What brings you here? I’ll do my best to answer any questions you have. Do you intend to study the foundations of philosophy? Or do you seek answers in a more concentrated area? I’m happy to look at any earnest inquiry through my philosophical spyglass. Perhaps I can play the Devil’s Advocate for a looming decision you’re facing? I certainly don’t have all the answers but I’m often able to frame a question fruitfully. Everyone has a unique story to tell—I look forward to hearing yours.

Common Questions
Is the intro chat really free?
Yes. It is simply a chance to talk, ask questions, and see whether Philosophy with Lance feels like the right place to begin.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No. You can come with a question, a theme, a concern, or simple curiosity.
Is this therapy or life coaching?
No. Philosophy with Lance offers guided philosophical conversation. It is not counseling, psychotherapy, clinical treatment, or life coaching.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions take place online by Zoom or FaceTime.
What happens after the intro chat?
If it feels like a good fit, we can talk about beginning with individual sessions. Later, group circles may be an option for those who are interested.
Who is this for?
Thoughtful people who want to slow down, think more clearly, examine their values, and have meaningful conversations about life’s deeper questions.
What if I'm new to philosophy?
That’s great! You do not need a background in philosophy. Curiosity, earnestness, and a willingness to think carefully are enough.
A Bit About Me
Philosophy has shaped my life. I’ve spent decades teaching and making music, reading philosophy and literature, and contemplating the nature of existence.
The older I get, the more I value meaningful conversation, thoughtful reflection, and the chance to examine life alongside other people.
I believe philosophy is not an escape from life, but a way to extract richness from it.
The unexamined life is not worth living.
